OVERVIEW
In an endeavor to create a transactional web site catering to the emotional and informational needs of users who enjoy both attending and hosting wine tastings, my group went through a rigorous design process culminating in the creation of the website VinoContigo. Vino Contigo is spanish for "wine with you". Coupled with our slogan, "experience the passion", our site aims to create a social and learning community for those who love both love wine and the wine tasting experience.

PROCESS
In order to design a transactional website for wine tastings we began our exploratory phase with directed storytelling, bricks and mortar observation, and competitive analysis of current wine websites. From this we found that the most important aspects of wine tastings are the educational opportunities and the social community. At all levels, people have a desire to learn more about wine and admit that it could take them a lifetime to learn everything. No matter how much they read about or try new wines, people typically learn the most from those around them. With this in mind, we aimed to design a site that would allow a community of wine tasters to share their experiences with and learn from each other along the way.

With an understanding of our users and their need, we moved forward into a generative design phase. Through a mood board and mental models, we explored the emotive feelings and thought process of the user in order to ensure our site would map to their expectations. From this we conducted an iterative design of the site, exploring color schemes, layout, interactions and system feedback.
